SOC 2 Type II is an independent audit that evaluates the effectiveness of a company's security controls over a period of time (typically 6-12 months). This certification verifies that Neighborly Software maintains robust security, availability, and confidentiality controls for protecting customer data. Unlike SOC 2 Type I which only examines controls at a point in time, Type II testing ensures our security measures work consistently and effectively in real-world operations.
SSL 2048-bit SHA-2 encryption is a security protocol that protects data transmission between your browser and our servers. The 2048-bit refers to the key length used for encryption (longer keys provide stronger security), while SHA-2 is the cryptographic algorithm that ensures data integrity. This industry-standard encryption automatically secures all information sent over the internet, including login credentials, personal data, and program information, making it virtually impossible for unauthorized parties to intercept or read your data.
We partner with Microsoft Azure's FedRAMP certified data center for all hosting and infrastructure, utilizing their enterprise-grade cloud platform with rigorous security standards. Our development follows Microsoft's recommended best practices and managed services, including Azure Web Applications and SQL Azure for enhanced security. All infrastructure is additionally protected by Cloudflare's real-time threat analytics and attack mitigation strategies.
Neighborly Software conducts regular 3rd party assessments to protect against unauthorized access including OWASP Top 10 security vulnerabilities. We have regular penetration tests which are conducted by third parties and additionally have our SOC 2 Type I and Type II audit. We also perform regular security scans in conjunction with partner organizations, and leverage Azure Vulnerability assessments for internal security validation.
All client databases are separate and unique to each tenant, with automated backups leveraging Microsoft SQL Azure's Point in Time Restore to any point within the last 35 days. We guarantee data recovery within four hours and follow Microsoft best practices for all infrastructure. Additional backup and recovery details are outlined in our contract terms.
